UM Safety Resources

There are lots of University of Michigan resources to help you think about your personal safety, talk about safety with your friends, and share responsibility for keeping our campus community a safe place.  Here are a few to consider:

Sign up to receive University of Michigan emergency alerts.

Read Department of Public Safety safety tips; consider registering your personal property with DPS to deter theft.

The Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center will talk to all members of the U of M community about abusive relationships, stalking, sexual harassment and assault.  They have programs for survivors and prevention education for campus.

Beyond the Diag is a program of the Dean of Students office specifically for student living in off-campus neighborhoods.  Find out about their Neighborhood Ambassadors; knowing your neighbors is a great step toward safer communities!

The Office of Student Conflict Resolution assists students in resolving conflict peacefully, including articles with tips and tools to manage and resolve conflict between roommates, in residence halls, within student organizations, and even conflict with the university.

The Expect Respect Campaign at the University of Michigan encourages and supports a respectful, inclusive and safer campus community.  Their site includes multiple choices for ways to report hate crimes, bias incidents, and other campus safety concerns.
