Concern for Health and Well-being

Column 1

We know college can be a challenging time. Navigating campus life, building new relationships, and managing coursework can feel overwhelming. It’s natural for college students to face challenges and difficult life events along the way. The Dean of Students team is here to connect you with the resources and support you may need.

A critical incident is a life event or challenging situation that a student is experiencing, which is having a negative affect on their campus life and ability to be successful. The Dean of Students team is available to directly support students through these challenging situations, including listening to their concerns and needs, identifying helpful resources and services, and making meaningful connections to support a student’s well-being.

You can connect with the Dean of Students team in a few different ways:

  • By Phone - Call the Dean of Students Office at 734-764-7420 during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm) to request support. If it is after business hours, please leave a message and a staff member will get back to you on the next business day.
  • By Email - Email the Dean of Students Office at [email protected] to request support. Messages received after business hours will be responded to on the next business day.
  • By Drop-In - Visit the Dean of Students Office (3100 Michigan Union) during regular business hours for a drop-in meeting with a Dean of Students staff member.
  • Online - Submit a Student Support Request form online. Please do not use this form to report emergencies or time-sensitive requests. Submissions are reviewed during business hours. You will receive a response within one business day.
