Bio

Romonia serves as a Blavin Campus Coach and Outreach/Recruitment Coordinator for the Blavin Scholars Program.  She helps students to enhance their life skills for self-sufficiency through the seven life domains according to the Fostering Success of Michigan coaching model, provides guidance and coaches students through their academic and personal concerns, and provides on-call support for Blavin Scholars and program planning as well as attends community and educational events to inform potential students about the Blavin Scholars Program.
Before coming to the University of Michigan in May 2022, Romonia was a Support Coordinator for children and families with disabilities and/or mental health, an Outpatient Therapist for children, young adults, and families practicing cognitive behavioral therapy regarding various mental health disorders,  a Family Support Coordinator for children and families to educate families on their children's growth and development and establish family goals to address stability needs, a SIL/Foster Care Case Worker for independent foster care youth to address case and personal needs for independent living, and a Residential Youth Counselor for adolescent young girls within the child welfare system.  Romonia earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work in August 2009 from Eastern Michigan University and her Master of Social Work in May 2018 from Wayne State University.
